Scum Pumping

Skimmings from each clarifier are removed by a skimmer arm and discharged to a scum well adjacent to the clarifier. Scum pumps located in the lower level pump room of the Operations Building transfer the skimmings to the aerobic digester. Pump operation is a simple start/stop controlled by level in the scum well.
